Frankfurt Airport (FRA) in Germany has reported 3.7% rise in passenger traffic to almost 5.8 million passengers in July 2012, when compared to the same month in 2011.
According to operator Fraport, the airport's maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) rose 0.6% to nearly 2.6 million tonne, while aircraft movements also reported a 1.3% rise to 43,269 takeoffs and landings.
The airport's daily passenger traffic exceeded the 200,000 mark for the first time on 01 July 2012, with the airport serving 201,380 passengers.
During the month, FRA 's cargo volume declined 7.6% to 180,468t, due to the overall development of the global economy in addition to the curfew on night time scheduled flights at FRA.
The combined passenger traffic at Fraport's five majority-owned airports which include FRA, Antalya (AYT), Burgas (BOJ), Varna (VAR) and Lima (LIM) reported a 3.2% rise to 11.8 million passengers when compared to the same period in 2011.
Fraport operated airports reported a 7% decline in cargo traffic to 203,256t while aircraft movements have increased 0.8% to 85,542 during the month.
During the initial seven months 2012, the FRA's passenger traffic increased by 3.4% to 33.19 million when compared with 2011.
Aircraft movements at FRA reported a 0.1% rise to 281,631, while the MTOWs declined 0.5% to 16,828,339t, when compared to the corresponding period in 2011.
