Abu Dhabi International Airport has unveiled a new initiative for passengers with reduced mobility by offering golf carts to help transport them between the departure and arrival halls, and the aircraft gates.
This move is part of a plan to increase the airport's accessibility and ensure that its facilities best serve all passengers.
The golf carts are available in terminals one and three.
Abu Dhabi Airports COO Ahmad Al Haddabi said: "Abu Dhabi Airports strives to provide all passengers travelling through Abu Dhabi International Airport with convenient and hassle-free experiences.
"The commitment of all the airport partners and entities as well as staff members to deliver world-class services extends to all our passengers, taking into consideration their requirements and needs.
"The new specialised golf carts for persons with reduced mobility is yet another innovative service that we continue to provide to the growing number of passengers and visitors flying through the airport."
Over the past few years, Abu Dhabi Airports has installed specialised ramps, rails, and e-Gates designed for persons with reduced mobility at its airports to ensure comfort and accessibility.
Abu Dhabi Airports formed a steering committee with major stakeholders at the airport in 2011 to improve accessibility for persons with reduced mobility.
Abu Dhabi Airports is the largest operator of airports in the UAE, with a portfolio that comprises Abu Dhabi International Airport, Al Ain International Airport, Al Bateen Executive Airport, Delma Island & Sir Bani Yas island Airports.
