The United Arab Emirates (UAE) General Civil Aviation Authority has said that air traffic movements in the UAE have increased by 12.8% in September 2010, compared with the same month in 2009. In September 2010, total air traffic movements were 52,693 with an average of 1,756 air traffic

In September 2010, total air traffic movements were 52,693 with an average of 1,756 air traffic movements per day.

Dubai International Airport ranked first with 24,068 air traffic movements, and over flights stood next at 11,674 air traffic movements.

Abu Dhabi International Airport ranked third with 7,753 movements, while Sharjah International Airport ranked fourth with 5,350 movements.

Local flights between the UAE airports were in the fifth position with 3,194 movements, while Al Maktoum International Airport witnessed seven shipping movements.

Fujairah International Airport witnessed 339 movements, while Al Ain Airport and Ras Al Khaimah International Airport had 224 and 84 air traffic movements respectively, according to ameinfo.com.
