Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has recorded double-digit passenger traffic growth of 16.9% to 4.1 million and a 13.9% rise in cargo volume to 346,000t in September 2010.

Aircraft movements increased 15.9% to a total of 26,140, while transfer and transit passengers rose 15% during last month.

In September, domestic traffic rose 19% while international traffic rose 17% at HKIA, compared with the same period in 2009.

From July to September, HKIA’s passenger traffic increased 14.3% to a total of 13.5 million.

In the first nine months of 2010, the airport’s passenger volume increased 10.9% to 38 million, cargo traffic rose 28.7% to 3 million tons, while air traffic movements increased 8.2% to 224,890.
