Changi Airports International (CAI) has begun consultancy work with the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) to upgrade and develop the Brunei International Airport, Brunei.

The upgrading and development project, estimated to cost around BND130m ($98m), is set to be complete in 36 months from the date of commencement.

As the owner-advisor to the BEDB, CAI has formed a consortium with AECOM Asia for the project.

During the development, CAI will assist the BEDB to prioritise what is needed to modernise the airport terminal and prepare tender documents for the design and build contract.

CAI will also undertake project management services during the construction stage, according to bernama.com.
