The Transportation Security Administration has awarded a grant to Rochester International Airport in the US state of Minnesota for the construction of new in-line baggage handling systems.

The $938,000 fund will be used to construct new in-line systems at the Delta and American Eagle ticket counters.

The baggage handling systems use advanced technology to screen baggage for explosives and streamline the ticketing and boarding process for an estimated 320,000 passengers a year.

Once the installation is complete, the airport will feature 100% in-line screening.
