China to Receive New ATC Radio Communication Systems

Northrop Grumman Park Air Systems has won a multi-million dollar contract to supply VHF radio communication systems for the Chengdu area air traffic control centre in China.

The contract was awarded by China Aviation Supplies International Tendering Company (CASITC).

Northrop will supply its T6 range of VHF ATC radios for the new control tower currently under construction for the Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB) of China.

110 channels in total will be distributed across 17 sites throughout the ATMB South West administration region.

The channels provide three services, including Chengdu regional control, airway radar control and Europe and Asia airway control.

The contract represents the largest air traffic control VHF system delivered to date in China.
