European Passenger Traffic Rises in July

The Airports Council International announced that overall passenger traffic increased 6.3% and freight traffic increased 20.1% at European airports in July 2010, compared with the same period in 2009.

The overall figure for aircraft movement increased 2.9% in July 2010 when compared with July 2009.

The accumulated figure from January to July for passenger traffic rose 3.2% and for freight traffic increased by 24.2%, while aircraft movements decreased by 0.9%.

Airports with the largest increases in passenger traffic include Munich Airport (11.1%), Rome Fiumicino Airport (8%), Frankfurt Airport (7.8%), Atatürk International Airport (5.8%), Sheremetyevo International Airport (35.1%) and Antalya Airport (21.4%).

Traffic rose 18.4% at Domodedovo International Airport, 11.6% at Berlin-Tegel Airport , 91.0% at Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, 31.0% at Ankara Esenboga International Airport, 28.0% at Moscow -Vnukovo Airport and 12.2% at Faro Airport.
