July Passenger Traffic Rises at Changi Airport

Changi International Airport in Singapore has registered a 15.9% rise in passenger traffic to 3.67 million for the month of July. The rise in traffic is 13.7% higher than the 3.23 million recorded in July 2008, and is the highest monthly traffic recorded at Changi Airport so far in 2010

Changi International Airport in Singapore has registered a 15.9% rise in passenger traffic to 3.67 million for the month of July.

The rise in traffic is 13.7% higher than the 3.23 million recorded in July 2008, and is the highest monthly traffic recorded at Changi Airport so far in 2010.

The airport has handled a total of 23.9 million passengers year-to-date, an increase of 16.9% compared with the first seven months of 2009.

Growth in July 2010 was mainly driven by a rise in passenger traffic to north-east and south-east Asia by 25.1% and 21.5% respectively.

Cargo traffic rose 11.8% to 158,000t in July 2010, while for the first seven months of 2010 it increased by 15.8% to over a million tons.

Aircraft movements also increased 11.5% to 22,593, while it rose 10.6% to 150,603 in the first seven months of 2010.
