Moroccan airport operator Office National Des Aeroports (ONDA) has awarded Frequentis a contract to provide a redundant aeronautical information management (smartAIM) system for Casablanca.

The new AIM system, expected to start operation in the second half of 2010, will be synchronised with the European AIS Database (EAD).

Based on the AIXM standard, the AIM system will be fully compatible with the ongoing SESAR Joint Undertaking Programme and should ensure data quality and consistency.

The smartAIM system, which supports System Wide Information Management (SWIM) principles, will enable air traffic controllers to navigate aircraft safely.

ONDA will use smartAIM's static data management capabilities, along with GIS visualisation and editing (smartDM), publication tools and NOTAM and METEO management systems.
