Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has awarded a contract to Jacobs Engineering Group to provide on-call professional construction support services for airport improvement projects.
Under the $25m contract, Jacobs will assist LAWA in the management of construction projects at US airports, including Los Angeles International Airport, LA/Ontario International Airport and Van Nuys Airport.
The assignments will be executed on a cost plus fixed fee task order basis.
Consultation from Jacobs is intended to help LAWA to minimise the pressure on its engineering and capital development staff for handling complex upcoming projects.
Under the capital improvement programme, which begins in December 2011 and runs to 2013, LAWA will undertake 30 projects, with estimated construction costs ranging from $350,000 to $700m.
