The Police Center for Aviation Security (PCAS) will deploy dogs at Iloilo International Airport and Kalibo International Airport in the Philippines to detect hidden explosives.

PCAS 6 officer-in-charge C/Inspt Ramil Rebollos said the procurement of dogs has been approved and the dogs will be deployed before the end of 2010.

Six PCAS personnel are currently undergoing training on an explosive detection dogs course as part of deployment preparation, according to mb.com.ph.

Until the dogs are deployed, the PCAS will rely on support from the Tactical Operations Group 6 of the Philippine Air Force dog units.

The Aviation Security Group at Iloilo Airport is coordinating with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines to prepare a staging area for the dogs.
