Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has experienced double-digit growth for July in all the three traffic categories, including passenger, cargo and aircraft movement.
International passenger traffic increased 17.5% to 4.7 million and domestic traffic by 21%, while aircraft movements rose by 14.7% to 26,720 in July, compared with the same period in 2009.
Cargo tonnage also posted 24.5% year-on-year growth to 363,000t in July.
Airport Authority Hong Kong CEO Stanley Hui Hon-Chung said July saw a high average load factor of close to 80% for passenger flights at HKIA.
In the first seven months of 2010, cargo traffic increased 33.3% to 2.3 million tons, passenger volume reached 10.4% to 29.2 million, while air traffic movements rose 6.3% to 171,650.
