Navoi International Airport in Uzbekistan has opened a new cargo terminal as part of an investment project to build an international intermodal logistics centre at the airport.
Built in participation with Korean Air, the new cargo terminal will be capable of transporting up to 300t per day, according to Trend News Agency.
The terminal is equipped with six workstations for loading and unloading 20t and 5t, refrigeration and freezer, chamber heating and storage.
Uzbekistan Airways and Korean Air signed an agreement in February 2008 to build the international logistics centre at the airport.
As well as the cargo terminal, the logistics centre will include a fuel-filling complex, air-navigation centre and other units with all necessary infrastructure.
