Reno-Tahoe International Airport in the US recorded a 4.1% rise in passenger traffic in June 2010, its highest monthly rise since August 2008.
The airport handled 361,406 passengers in June and 1.92 million in the first half of 2010. Its year-to-date passengers have increased by 1.15% compared to the same period in 2009.
The surge in passengers has been attributed to the rise in flights and available seats, which have increased by 9.9% and 8.9% respectively in the last eight months.
Cargo traffic increased by 11% in June compared to the same period in 2009, while year-to-date cargo volume has grown 5.86% to 50.8 million lbs.
