Jordan Airport Posts Robust Traffic Growth

Jordan's Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) served 2,455,500 passengers during the first half of 2010, a 17% increase on the same period in 2009.

QAIA experienced its highest traffic volumes in June (482,400 passengers), while its aircraft movement increased by 11.3% to 29,600 aircraft in the first six months of the year.

The airport's cargo traffic also posted a year-to-date growth of 9.9%, handling 42,850t.

Rehabilitation and expansion works worth $750m are underway at the airport, including the construction of a new 100,000m² passenger terminal.
