Munich Airport operating company FMG has won a contract to oversee the development of two airports in Oman.
The multi-million dollar contract will include commissioning, relocation and operation work at Muscat International Airport and Salalah Airport to be carried out over the next four and a half years.
Major works will include constructing a new terminal building, tower and new runway at Muscat Airport to increase its capacity to 12 million from four million passengers each year.
A new terminal will be built in Salalah Airport to handle one million passengers each year and the runway will also be extended.
FMG plans to begin work in Oman by November 2010.
