Changi Airport in Singapore achieved its highest year-on-year growth in passenger traffic in May, handling 3.39m passengers, an increase of 21.6% compared with the previous year.

In the first five months of 2010, traffic increased to 16.6m.

Passenger volume rose by 43% for North America, 34% for North-East Asia, and 20% for both South-East Asia and South Asia.

Cargo traffic rose by 14.7% to 153,098t , while airfreight movements increased by 17.3% to 728,794 between January and May.

Aircraft movements also posted a growth of 12.4%, rising to 22,151 in May.
