Three people were injured as a United Express flight skidded off a runway at Macdonald-Cartier International Airport in Ottawa, Canada, last Wednesday while trying to land during a rainstorm.

Trans States Airlines, which operates the Embraer 145, has launched an investigation into the incident, according to the Toronto Star.

The plane was carrying 29 passengers and three crew members, and was arriving from Washington DC.

During the accident the landing gear on the plane collapsed, leaving the aircraft 100m-200m from the end of the runway.
