Tripoli International Airport in Libya is updating its voice communication control systems (VCCS) using new technology from Frequentis as part of an air traffic control (ATC) tower package contract.

Frequentis' VCS 3020X system will be used for the ATC switching system and as radio backup.

The solution features sunlight-readable, colour-touch panels and is equipped with 28 operational work positions to provide access to the main and backup systems.

Frequentis will deliver the system by the end of 2010 and complete installation in early 2011.
