Fresno Yosemite International Airport in the US has unveiled its new security screening checkpoint, which it says can reduce congestion during peak travel times and accommodate future passenger growth.

The 5,000ft² checkpoint features expanded entrance and exit points, additional seating, new LCD flight messages and safety monitors.

The security area expansion project marks the completion of a three-year, $17.2m terminal modernisation and improvement programme at the airport.

Other projects under the programme include an expanded baggage claim area, a public art project and a $27m consolidated rental car facility.
