Dubai Airport’s Traffic Rises 13.9%

Dubai International Airport in the UAE has recorded a 13.9% rise in passenger traffic, with figures reaching 3,289,037 in April, despite six days of flight disruptions because of the volcanic ash cloud. Cargo volume rose 19.6% to 178,357t compared with the same period last year.

Cargo volume rose 19.6% to 178,357t compared with the same period last year.

The airport's year-to-date passenger traffic increased 18.7% to 15,215,536, while cargo increased by 24.6% to 715,628t compared with April 2009.

Traffic to Western Europe posted a slight rise of 1% in April while passengers travelling to London fell by 20% due to flight cancellations.
