Edmonton International Airport (EIA) in Canada will install an air traffic control (ATC) grade video solution from Searidge Technologies to enhance tower visibility.

EIA will install the new solution as part of its $1bn Expansion 2012 project, which will also include the construction of a new ATC tower and an office building.

The solution will monitor and present real-time video feeds from digital camera sensors to offer a one-look display to give controllers a real-time view of the obstructed area.

It will enable controllers to effectively manage ground traffic in conjunction with other surface management systems.

The airport plans to add up to 13 new aircraft bridges in a larger terminal as part of its expansion project.

Searidge Technologies provides intelligent video solutions to air navigation service providers.
