The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is to develop and offer a joint executive MBA in aviation management in collaboration with the University of Geneva (UNIGE).

The course will cover the key facets of aviation management in 12 modules including operations, safety and security, environmental challenges and air law.

Aviation professionals and graduates with prior professional experience can receive the MBA in aviation management in Switzerland.

Students can apply for an executive MBA specialising in aviation management or an aviation management diploma for completing all 12 course modules.

They can also apply for an attestation certificate issued by IATA and UNIGE to recognise achievement in individual courses.

The first course, to begin in September 2010, will see 120 industry professionals from the IATA Training and Development Institute (ITDI) and students enrolled.

The courses will be taught by internationally qualified ITDI instructors and UNIGE professors at university facilities during the academic year.
