Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals (Hactl) has posted a year-on-year growth of 41.9% to 248,027t, and its highest tonnage ever in April.

Hactl handled a total of 10,080t of air cargo on 23 April 2010, passing the landmark of 10,000t per day.

The airport's cumulative tonnage for the first four months of 2010 is 884,770t, a rise of 38.7% year-on-year.

Its export volume posted a year-on-year growth of 53.5% in April to 138,123t.

The cumulative export tonnage for the first four months recorded a year-on-year growth of 45.9% to 476,569t.

In April, import volume increased 32.1% year-on-year to 61,785t, while cumulative import tonnage for the first four months rose 39.2% to 236,354t compared with the same period last year.

Transhipment volume also increased 26.5% year-on-year to 48,119t, while it rose 21.6% year-on-year to 171,847t from January to April.
