Fraport Group Records Rise in Passenger Numbers Across the Board

International airport operator Fraport AG said group traffic for March 2010 increased by 12.4% to 6.03 million passengers, compared with same period last year.

The Fraport Group's five major airports, including Frankfurt in Germany, Antalya in Turkey, Lima in Peru, and Burgas and Varna in Bulgaria, received a total of 15.7 million passengers, an increase of 7.7% in the January-to-March 2010 period.

Passenger traffic at Frankfurt Airport rose 8.3% to 4.4 million in March.

Traffic increased at Antalya airport by 44.5% to 860,385, while at Lima airport, numbers grew by 9.4% to 780,386, and Varna by 1.2% to 23,425.

Meanwhile, Burgas experienced a growth of 26.6% to 4,508 passengers.

The group's cargo traffic in March, including airmail, increased by 35.4% to 226,381t compared with last year.

Cargo traffic increased 35.5% to 207,044t at Frankfurt Airport and rose 32.8% to 18,952t at Lima airport.
