The Government of Turkmenistan has opened a new international airport in Turkmenbashi, which is designed to service 800 passengers an hour.

The airport includes a four-story passenger terminal and a 61m-high control tower equipped with special equipment delivered by Siemens and Thales, according to turkmenistan.ru.

The airport can receive seven flights simultaneously and prepare 14 aircraft for flight and operation. It has a runway that can handle nearly all kinds of aircraft.

The airport also includes a VIP building for distinguished guests, meetings and conferences.
