India’s Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) will expand Terminal 1 in September this year to cater for the capacity predicted in 2015.
The expansion will increase 70% of the existing terminal with an additional passenger space of 40,000m².
The project will enable the airport to handle 17 million passengers a year.
The construction, scheduled to be complete within 18 months, will add enhanced and modern design elevation to Terminal 1.
The project is estimated to cost nearly Rs 600 crores (US$135m).
