DFW International Airport in Dallas, US, has awarded a $900m preconstruction and construction contract for its terminals to Balfour Beatty Construction.
Balfour will carry out construction work to improve efficiency, passenger processing and the aesthetic appearance of terminals A, B, C, and E, which are almost 36 years old.
Balfour will renovate terminals A and C and will build a railway station to connect future routes for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit and Fort Worth Transportation Authority to the airport.
It will also replace mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, improve roadways and infield parking garages and preparing existing areas for new conveyance systems for baggage handling.
Temporary facilities will be built to relocate occupants of areas that are under renovation during the phased project.
