Iraq Awards International Airport Construction Contract

Iraq has awarded a $50m contract to Leedco Engineers to develop an international airport in the Salahuddine Province of northern Iraq. The new airport will have an initial capacity of two million passengers a year and is hoping to become an alternative to Baghdad International Airport.<

The new airport will have an initial capacity of two million passengers a year and is hoping to become an alternative to Baghdad International Airport.

Leedco will soon begin the construction of the airport, which is expected to be operational within two years.

Iraq is also expected to invite foreign companies to construct an international airport in southern Iraq in April.
