Sweden’s 19 major airports have reported a 5% increase in passenger traffic in February compared with the same month in 2009, according to LFV Group.

During February, international passenger traffic rose by 3% and domestic traffic by 7% at LFV-operated airports in Sweden.

LFV has attributed the recovery to an improvement in domestic traffic with a rise in passenger volumes on major domestic routes from Goteborg Landvetter, Malmo, Are Ostersund and Lulea.

The total number of passenger traffic at LFV’s airports for the period January-February 2010 rose by 2% compared with the same period last year.

Passenger volume increased by 14% at Stockholm-Bromma, 9% at Goteborg Landvetter and 3% at Stockholm Arlanda.

The number of scheduled and charter landings, however, dropped by 2% compared to the same month in 2009.
