Canberra Airport Terminal Upgrade Receives Approval

Development work at the new Western Concourse Terminal at Canberra Airport in Australia has been approved by the federal government. The Western Concourse Terminal upgrade, which is expected to be completed in 2012, is the second stage of a $350m Southern Concourse Terminal project.

The Western Concourse Terminal upgrade, which is expected to be completed in 2012, is the second stage of a $350m Southern Concourse Terminal project.

The expanded terminal will include separate departures and arrivals levels, 22 additional check-in counters, six additional aerobridges, and international and customs processing capabilities.

The terminal upgrade is expected to double Canberra airport's passenger traffic from its current three million passengers per year to 6.3 million in the next two decades.
