JFK Unveils New Cargo Terminal

American Airlines Cargo Division (AA Cargo) has unveiled a newly relocated cargo terminal at John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, US.

The new facility will feature more than 135,000ft² of warehouse space and 24 dock doors.

It will feature a high-speed, computerised elevated transfer vehicle (ETV) handling system, which will include two 20ft ETVs with a storage capacity equivalent of 385 upper-deck aircraft positions.

The handling system will include six dock doors for processing containerised cargo, which can accommodate any type of aircraft unit at a rate of 60ft per minute.

The new terminal, which also includes three coolers for perishable products, an environmental room and a live-animal handling area, will be located in Cargo Building 79 on the North Boundary Road of JFK airport.
