Logan International Airport's Terminal C is to receive a major upgrade under a $55m fund approved by the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport).
On 16 April 2009, Massport's board of directors approved a $30m plan to create a unified checkpoint, according to boston.com.
The fund will also be used for a lighting, electrical and air-handling contract, which was approved by Massport on 18 February 2010.
The upgrade will include the installation of new lighting, ventilation and ceiling panels, as well as a cross-terminal walkway.
The new cross-terminal walkway will be used by United and JetBlue passengers to pass between all Terminal C's gates without having to go through two weapons screenings.
