Daytona Beach International Airport (DBIA) in the US has experienced a 23% increase in passenger traffic in January 2010 compared to the same month last year.
Nearly 34,514 passengers used the airport during January 2010. DBIA served 28,102 passengers during January last year.
In the 12-month period ending 31 January, 430,137 passengers travelled through DBIA compared to 576,196 passengers in 2008, which is a 25% decrease in passenger traffic.
Airport director Rick Karl said he is optimistic that as the economy improves, airport traffic will continue to improve over the depressed levels of the last two years.
