London Oxford Airport in the UK, which operates international and business flights, has partnered with Skyways of Sweden to use the airline's IT network for efficient passenger-handling infrastructure and support services.
The airport will be connected with Skyways' departure control systems (DCS), which includes automated passenger verification, check-in, seat assignment, special requests, specific passenger-handling requirements and ticket reconciliation services.
The departure control system is based on the SITA reservations and DCS IT platform.
The system also enables efficient baggage processing by tagging every piece of luggage with a bar-coded label compliant with advanced bag scanning and directional handling facilities at major hub airports.
The operating airline and destination airport will receive all mandatory reporting data through the system.
The agreement is effective from 16 January for through-connecting flights to Rome (via Geneva) and the start of week-daily scheduled services to Edinburgh on 1 March.
