Indonesian police have launched a zero-tolerance drug programme at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to suppress drug trafficking and drug abuse across the country.

According to reports, national police chief Bambang Hendarso Danuri has said the programme will spearhead a national campaign against drugs, which are often smuggled into the country through the international airport.

As part of the programme, a joint study will be launched in cooperation with airport authorities, seaport operators, state prosecutors and penitentiaries to anticipate and prevent drug-related crime.
