The UK Government has announced new steps and measures that are to be put in place to enhance airline security in the UK.

The move is a direct response to the attempted plan to blow up a US-bound plane on Christmas Day by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.

The new security measures include setting up of a 'no-fly list' to stop terror suspects travelling to the UK, while others will be subjected to enhanced screening.

Immediate suspension of direct flights to Yemen is also one of the measures that has been included as is an increased sharing of information on suspects with international security agencies.
