A Swiss airline flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Pulkovo Airport in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on Sunday as a bird was caught in one of its engines. After take-off the crew heard vibrating noises, and a check revealed the presence of a bird in one of the engines.

The Airbus 319 was enroute to Zurich carrying 123 passengers and seven crew when it turned back and landed at Pulkovo Airport.

In 2009, several birds flew into a US Airways aircraft forcing the pilot to crash land in New York's Hudson River to save the passengers.
