The new passenger terminal at Luanda's 4 de Fevereiro International Airport in Angola has begun operations following the completion of expansion and modernisation works.

The modernisation works have increased the number of boarding areas, counters and baggage conveyors.

The facility's passenger handling capacity rose from 400 to 1,000 an hour and annual movements increased from 1.2 million people to 3.6 million.

The overall cost of the airport's renovation will amount to $153m.
