Unisys is to help implement an integrated security system at three airports managed by airport operator Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA).
The IT and services vendor will develop systems to predict and respond to security threats for the Los Angeles International Airport and Ontario International Airport and eventually Van Nuys Airport.
The contract follows Unisys’s major work with Beijing Capital International where it was recognised for its operational systems designed to help the airport cope with travellers to the Olympics.
The new system will offer services such as physical access control, identity management, video surveillance and mobile communication network systems.
The company will operate and maintain LAWA’s current physical access control system under a separate three-year contract.
