Stewart International Airport in the US has received almost $16m in funding from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in order to complete various modernisation programmes.

A total of $5.9m has been allocated for taxiway lighting, while $2.7m will be used to develop approach lighting, fixtures and cables.

The airport's weather instrumentation power circuit will be replaced at a cost of $2.7m and another $2m will be used for parking lot expansions and the realignment of Stewart Boulevard.
