Sabiha Gokcen International Airport in Turkey has unveiled its new earthquake-resistant terminal, touted as the world's largest earthquake-safe facility.

The facility has been designed by Arup and is set atop 300 isolators and special bearings that can withstand an earthquake of up to eight on the Richter scale.

The bearings and isolation system help minimise damage.
