A £150m expansion plan at Bristol International Airport in the UK has been delayed until February 2010 by the local council.
North Somerset Council is expected to make a decision on on the plan by 9 December. The project aims to increase annual passenger traffic from the current six million to ten million a year by 2016.
The expansion, however, has been opposed by the environmental campaign group ‘Stop Bristol Airport Expansion’, which cites that the tourist sector has lost 3,340 full-time jobs in the former Avon area from 2001 to 2007.
