Southern Luzon International Airport in the Philippines has acquired over 200ha of land to develop its airport facilities.
Part of the president’s super region programme, the $72.13m (P3.4bn) project is planned for the nation’s Daraga region.
Of the 200ha, 187ha will be dedicated to the airport terminal and runway, 1.5ha will be used to build a road link and 10ha has been earmarked as a resettlement area.
Nearly $17m has been spent to acquire the land and conduct feasibility studies.
The airport is expected to be complete in 2012.
