Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) in the US has experienced an increase in passenger traffic for three successive months, with August seeing a 3.85% increase compared to the same month last year.
Despite an earlier 14-month downward spiral at the airport, passenger numbers began picking up in June and July.
Passenger traffic figures were lowest in February 2009, which recorded a drop of 14.3% compared to the same month the previous year. Commercial service operations showed an increase of 2.12% in July and of 2.08% in August compared to the same months of 2008.
The airport serves 20 million passengers annually and has been ranked seventh in the US airport league tables.
