The new $727.4m (€500m) terminal at Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW) in Turkey is currently undergoing various trials before its scheduled opening of 31 October.

The new terminal has been built by airport operator Limak-GMR-MAHB Consortium and has a annual capacity of 25 million passengers.

The airport's 5,000-space underground car park with seismic isolators in 268 columns has been built to resist earthquakes.

A $100m, 3.5km second runway is also being planned, which is expected to be complete by 2012.
