Guyana’s Ogle Airport Receives International Status

Ogle Airport in Guyana, South America, has been officially certified as an international airport. It is hoped that the new international airport will act as a link between the Caribbean and South American regions. A contract has also been signed for the completion of Phase II

Ogle Airport in Guyana, South America, has been officially certified as an international airport.

It is hoped that the new international airport will act as a link between the Caribbean and South American regions.

A contract has also been signed for the completion of Phase II of a 4,000ft by 100ft International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) class II C runway.

The $6m phase II project includes improvement of taxiways, aprons, perimeter fences, runway lights and the upgrade of terminals.

Ogle Airport is currently classified as ICAO class I A. The new runway will be completed by 2011.
