The Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) in the US has announced that it will start building a new $2.1m storage and maintenance building.
The building will feature a mechanics workshop with an engine hoist and maintenance or grease pit areas. It will also contain storage space for airfield maintenance machinery such as batwing mowers, back hoes, rotor tillers, fork lifts and augers.
Barcom Construction of Corpus Christi has secured the construction contract for the facility from the city council last month.
Federal Aviation Administration has awarded a grant to finance the project.
Construction work of the facility is scheduled for completion in June 2010.
