Atlantic City International Airport in the US will begin the bidding process for its construction project next Friday.

The project involves an extended luggage claim space, a new passenger processing area for international flights, and three new departure and boarding gates.

The South Jersey Transportation Authority has estimated the project will cost $27.6m and expects it to begin in September or October of this year.

The extension is primarily aimed at helping the airport cope with an increase in international flights.
